Precast concrete solutions for flood protection

Protect communities from rising water levels

In areas that are liable to flood, a concrete barrier can effectively protect communities from rising water levels caused by seasonal or extreme weather events. Whether a temporary response to an emergency situation or a longer standing permanent resolution, we have a number of options that can be easily implemented.

Interlocking and connecting retaining wall systems

With the secure connection of parts being essential to the effectiveness of the wall, our interlocking and connecting systems are ideal. With the use of sealant our units provide a watertight barrier to prevent any water escaping or exposing structural weaknesses within the wall.

We also offer bespoke solutions, with a specialist finish applied during the precast process to produce an aesthetically pleasing look that will blend in naturally with its surroundings. Repeated time after time in a factory controlled environment, our specialist finishes can save time and money compared to applying the finish on site

By overlapping at half block lengths in alternate directions the reverse slots provide a rigid format with a uniformly pitched centrally located aperture. These cavities can be filled with various materials to form permanent or temporary constructions. Steel pilings can be used through the centre of each cast to add additional reinforcement and strength when required. The blocks can be used below the water level rising above water level as needed.  Further blocks can be added to or taken away from the original structure at a later date if required.

The Aquacast blocks have been tested at the Flood Chamber by Aquobex to the PASS standard which is sponsored by the Environment Agency.
