Allen Concrete manufactures a wide range of precast concrete fencing units to BS 1722 and BS EN. 12839, developed over many years. Our standard range includes slotted posts and gravel boards for timber panels, and spurs, and all units are wet cast to ensure a smooth finish to all mould faces. Extensive stocks are carried at our factories, enabling prompt delivery nationwide.
Concrete posts for mesh fencing are available for fence heights from 0.9m to 3.05m with or without cranked arms for 3 rows of barbed wire, and as major suppliers of chain link, welded mesh, barbed wire, gates and fittings, we are able to offer a one stop shop facility.
Concrete posts for closeboarded fencing are available for fence heights from 0.9m to 2.4m in both morticed and recessed designs with a range of gravel boards and fittings to suit.
Posts for concrete post and panel fencing, strained wire and acoustic fencing are also available.

Morticed Concrete Fence Posts
A mortice is a is a rectangular cavity in a material that usually forms a joint. In fencing, timber arris rails are fitted through the mortice. Feather-edge boards are then nailed to the arris rail and overlap each other to create a continuous barrier.
Also known as closeboard fencing, this is an attractive method of fencing, which provides complete privacy.
We offer a range of morticed concrete posts for timber closeboard fencing with gravel boards to suit various fence heights. Fittings are also available.
Recessed Concrete Fence Posts
A recessed fence post is one that is cast with a number of recesses to allow rails to fit neatly with the post itself. The rail can then be attached directly to the pre-holed concrete post using metal bolts.
Recessed fence posts are used for closeboard or featheredge fencing. Using this method of fencing means the post is only visible on one side, providing an attractive finish. Typically, two rails are required for fences of 1.2m and below, with three required for taller installations.
